Death From Above 1979 Announces Private Lives and 2027 Tour

Death From Above 1979 has announced that its fifth studio album, Private Lives, is scheduled for release on January 29, 2027, through the band’s original label, Last Gang/MNRK. The Canadian duo also released the album’s title track with a music video and announced North American tour dates for February and March 2027. The 10-track album will be the band’s first since Is 4 Lovers, released in 2021. Its tracklist includes “Escape From Steeltown,” “Mystery” featuring CSS, “Hi Lo,” “Put Up/Shut Up,” “Dreams,” “Drunk in Tokyo,” “Like My Ex Did,” “TV Don’t Talk Back” and “Late Stage Liberal,” alongside the title song. The video for “Private Lives” was directed by Eva Michon and stars actor Kim Bodnia. The band described the track as addressing pressure to share intimate moments and private thoughts, while also calling it a rock song driven by riffs. The group said the album represents a renewed commitment to its sound and approach to making music. The announced tour is scheduled to begin February 2 in Tempe, Arizona, and conclude March 31 in Seattle.
