Foo Fighters to Open AC/DC’s Rescheduled MetLife Show

Foo Fighters will open for AC/DC at the band’s rescheduled MetLife Stadium concert on October 2, after severe weather postponed the East Rutherford, New Jersey, show from September 25. Foo Fighters announced their participation in a social media post, and the performance remains scheduled rather than confirmed as having taken place. The nor’easter affected the East Coast and led to the postponement of the concert, which had been planned for MetLife Stadium. Organizers later set October 2 as the new date. Foo Fighters’ announcement makes them the support act for the rescheduled show, according to the reports. The booking follows Foo Fighters’ September 8 appearance opening for AC/DC in St. Louis. That show had been billed as a one-night-only arrangement, making the MetLife date another pairing of the bands less than a month later. Foo Fighters stepped in for that earlier performance after The Pretty Reckless could not play, according to reports. The Pretty Reckless also will not take the MetLife support slot. Reports say the band has a scheduling conflict that includes an October 1 appearance at the Aftershock Festival in California. Foo Fighters had other U.S.
