Dan Stevens has been cast as Alex Murphy, the ill-fated police officer who becomes the cybernetic law enforcer RoboCop, in an upcoming live-action series for Prime Video. The casting, reported by Deadline, was announced on August 25, 2026, marking a significant step for the project that was officially greenlit by Amazon MGM Studios about a month prior. The eight-episode series comes from showrunner and writer Peter Ocko and production company Blumhouse Atomic Monster. It will offer a contemporary take on the story first introduced in Paul Verhoeven's iconic 1987 film.
