Commercial LPG prices rise, while household rates remain unchanged
The price of a 19-kilogram commercial liquefied petroleum gas cylinder in Delhi rose by ₹62.50 to ₹2,810 on October 1, as rates increased across Indian cities. Prices for 14.2-kilogram household cylinders were unchanged, leaving the latest revision focused on businesses that use commercial fuel for cooking. The Delhi increase followed a ₹9.50 rise in September, when the cylinder cost ₹2,747.50. Reports listed the October rate in Patna at ₹3,100.50, up ₹71.50, the largest increase among the cities cited in several accounts. Mumbai’s reported price was about ₹2,764.50, while Chennai was listed at ₹2,983. Published figures for Kolkata varied, so its rate could not be established consistently. Household cylinder prices remained unchanged, including Delhi’s 14.2-kilogram rate of ₹942. Rates reported for Mumbai and Chennai households were ₹941.50 and ₹957.50, respectively. The commercial and domestic cylinders serve different users, and the October change does not directly raise the listed price of the standard household refill. Restaurants, hotels, caterers and other food businesses commonly use 19-kilogram cylinders.
