Combs Treated for Head Injury After Fort Dix Incident
Sean Combs was taken from Fort Dix for treatment of a head injury on Saturday, October 10, and returned to the New Jersey federal prison, according to reports citing Bureau of Prisons records and his spokesman. Accounts differ over how he was hurt, and the circumstances have not been independently verified by his representative. Prison sources cited in reports alleged that Combs fought Christopher “Dudus” Coke at Fort Dix on Friday, October 9. Those sources said Coke blamed Combs for drawing scrutiny to conditions inside the prison after NBC News coverage of his alleged privileges, followed by searches and the confiscation of phones from inmates. The reports said Coke’s phone was among those taken. The alleged altercation and its proposed motive have not been independently established. Juda Engelmayer, Combs’s spokesman, said he had no way to verify the information and that his concern was for Combs’s health and well-being. The Bureau of Prisons declined to discuss an incarcerated person’s medical status or conditions of confinement, citing privacy, safety and security. A separate account, attributed to an unnamed source, said Combs struck his head on the bunk above him.
