Delhi Police File FIR After Bangla Sahib Complaint

Published 12 October 2026

Delhi Police registered a first information report after the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee accused Aam Aadmi Party leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, of political activity at Bangla Sahib and circulating misleading videos. Police said submitted footage was being examined. The complaint records allegations, not findings that the conduct occurred. The dispute stems from October 10, when protesters seeking to reach Jantar Mantar for demonstrations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar took shelter at the gurdwara. Accounts differ over whether police entered its premises and what activity took place there. DSGMC president Harmeet Singh Kalka said AAP workers entered the grounds with banners and posters and raised slogans. He said police used a passage but did not enter the Darbar Hall, and that officers should avoid entering the gurdwara in uniform. The committee said it submitted videos with its complaint and asked police to identify those involved. Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner Sachin Sharma said officers shown in circulating footage were using a common passage leading to the area where devotees remove their shoes, not entering the main sanctum.
