Published 5 October 2026

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Las Vegas Raiders 30-27 on October 4 in Las Vegas, improving to 4-0 and handing the Raiders their first loss of the season. Kenneth Walker III rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns, while Patrick Mahomes threw for 225 yards and two scores in a fourth-quarter turnaround at Allegiant Stadium. Las Vegas led 13-10 at halftime and 19-17 late in the fourth quarter. The Chiefs had managed only 18 yards on their first nine second-half plays before Walker broke loose for a 76-yard run, the longest reported in the NFL this season. The run brought Kansas City to the Raiders’ 8-yard line, and Mahomes connected with Tyquan Thornton for a touchdown two plays later to put the Chiefs ahead. After Kansas City took a 23-19 lead, Raiders returner Dareke Young fumbled the ensuing kickoff when Jeffrey Bassa forced the ball loose. Jack Cochrane recovered for the Chiefs, and Walker scored on the next play to extend the lead to 30-19. Walker’s 22-yard touchdown run was his second of the game. The Raiders mounted a late response.
