Chandler Riggs’ Resident Evil Fan Film Scheduled for Release

Chandler Riggs has made Biohazard, a roughly 20-minute fan film recreating a confrontation from Resident Evil 7, with an online release scheduled for October 14, 2026. The reports do not confirm whether the film became available on that date. Riggs, known for playing Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead, directs and stars as Ethan Winters. The film recreates the garage fight between Ethan and Jack Baker, a scene from Capcom’s 2017 survival-horror game. Jason Douglas, another The Walking Dead actor, plays Jack Baker, according to one report. Riggs said he chose to show Ethan’s face, despite the game’s first-person perspective. In an interview, he explained that he could not see a good way to tell the story in live action while avoiding the character’s face. He acknowledged that the choice departs from the game’s approach, but said he made it to help the film reach beyond people who had played it. The project was in preproduction when news emerged of a separate Resident Evil film directed by Zach Cregger, Riggs said. His team had hoped to release Biohazard earlier, but scheduling conflicts prevented that, he said.
