Cardinals Plan to Trade Marvin Harrison Jr., Deal Not Final

Published 10 October 2026

The Arizona Cardinals plan to trade wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and will make him inactive for their Week 5 game against the Detroit Lions, but no deal has been completed and his destination is not confirmed. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Arizona told Harrison on Saturday, October 10, that he would sit out Sunday’s game while trade details were finalized. Schefter said the transaction would not be completed until after Sunday’s games. The reports describe a trade in progress, not a completed move. Houston is among the teams reportedly involved. Schefter said the Texans were in the mix, while a source with the team declined to confirm or deny its interest. No agreement with Houston or another team has been announced. The potential compensation also remains unsettled. Tom Pelissero reported that teams speaking with Arizona said the Cardinals sought a second-round draft pick, possibly with an additional mid-round pick. A separate report described a possible Houston offer centered on a 2028 second-round pick, while Arizona was reported to be seeking a 2027 second-round selection. Those accounts concern prospective terms, not a finalized trade package.
