Bureau of Prisons projects Combs release for March 2028

Published 8 October 2026

Federal Bureau of Prisons records now project Sean Combs’s release from prison for March 2, 2028, replacing a date of January 21, 2028, listed the previous week. The agency has not explained the change, and it has not confirmed allegations about Combs’s access to prohibited items or special services in prison. Combs is serving a 50-month sentence at the federal prison in Fort Dix, New Jersey, after a jury convicted him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He is appealing his conviction and sentence. The release date shown in prison records is a projection, not an announced change to his sentence. The Bureau of Prisons said it does not comment on an incarcerated person’s confinement conditions or the reasons for a release-date adjustment, citing privacy, safety and security. A representative for Combs said they did not know why the projected date changed and could not explain how the agency calculates or adjusts such dates. The latest date follows several changes in the projected schedule. Records reportedly listed January 21 as the expected release date as recently as the prior week; the new entry moves that projection to March 2.
