BSP reportedly restricts Coins.ph payment access
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has reportedly restricted incoming payment-network transfers handled by DCPay Philippines, the peso-payment operator for Coins.ph, while the exchange says its central-bank license remains in force. Reports citing people familiar with the matter say the restrictions are linked to allegations that Coins.ph served offshore gambling operators; the central bank has not publicly confirmed the reported action or allegations. The restrictions affect incoming transfers through InstaPay and PESONet, according to the reports. Outbound transfers through those networks remained available. Coins.ph said cash-in services and QRPh collections were temporarily unavailable, while crypto trading, cash-outs, bill payments and merchant QRPh payments continued to operate. The reported payment restrictions apply to DCPay’s operations, not necessarily to Coins.ph’s separate crypto-service registration. Betur Inc. holds the virtual-asset-provider registration for the exchange’s crypto business, and one report said that registration had not been suspended. The material provided does not establish that the BSP has suspended or revoked that license.
