Brian Eno Relaunches Opal Records With Reissues

Brian Eno is relaunching his independent record label, Opal Records, on October 16, 2026, marking the label's return after a hiatus of over three decades. Founded by the acclaimed musician in 1988, Opal Records was dedicated to experimental and nonmainstream music, a space Eno described as a home for "outsiders." The relaunch will feature reissues of two albums that have been largely unavailable for many years: Eno's "Another Day On Earth" and his 2001 collaboration with J. Peter Schwalm, "Drawn From Life." Reports differ on the original release year for "Drawn From Life," with some sources indicating 2001 and others citing 2005. Both albums were originally licensed to other labels for their initial release, with rights eventually reverting to Opal Records, where they have remained out of circulation. To coincide with the announcement, two previously unreleased live performance videos are now available. "Caught Between," from "Another Day On Earth," was filmed live at Porto Festival in 2001, and "Persis," from "Drawn From Life," was recorded at Fuji Rock Festival in 2001.
