BCCI Says India-Sri Lanka ODI Remains in Delhi
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the board has made no decision to move the opening India-Sri Lanka ODI from Delhi to Ahmedabad, rejecting reports of a venue change. The match remains scheduled for December 13, 2026, at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, according to the published schedule described by officials. Saikia said reports suggesting the fixture would be shifted were inaccurate and reiterated that bilateral matches are allotted under the BCCI’s standard policy. The reports had linked a possible move to construction work at the Delhi stadium. Saikia did not announce any change to the schedule. The three-match ODI series is scheduled to begin in Delhi, continue in Bengaluru and conclude in Ahmedabad. Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is set to host the third ODI on December 19. India and Sri Lanka are also scheduled to play three T20 internationals during the tour, with matches planned for Rajkot, Cuttack and Pune. The venue clarification leaves the December 13 match on the schedule in Delhi, but the cited statement did not address whether the stadium work will be completed in time.
