Barcelona rallies past Galatasaray 4-1 in Istanbul

Published 14 October 2026

Barcelona came from behind to defeat Galatasaray 4-1 in Istanbul on October 13, using three second-half goals to secure its second win in two Champions League matches. Lamine Yamal set up two of the goals as Barcelona overturned an early deficit and moved to six points. Galatasaray remained without a point after two matches. Aleksey Batrakov put Galatasaray ahead in the 28th minute with a shot that deflected off João Cancelo. Barcelona had controlled much of the opening period, but the hosts threatened to extend their lead when Barış Alper Yılmaz scored after a Victor Osimhen header. The goal was ruled out for offside following a video review. Cancelo equalized for Barcelona in the 43rd minute, finishing a pass from Dani Olmo. The teams went into halftime level at 1-1. Barcelona moved in front five minutes after the restart when Fermín López headed in Yamal’s cross. Three minutes later, Yamal supplied another assist, setting up Anthony Gordon to make it 3-1. Karim Adeyemi completed the scoring in the 65th minute, finishing after a move involving Yamal and substitute Gabriel Jesus. The result gave Barcelona a perfect start after two matches in the Champions League league phase.
