Aztec Labs relaunches zk.money privacy wallet

Published 29 September 2026

Aztec Labs has relaunched zk.money, a self-custodial wallet for private payments on the Aztec Network, three years after discontinuing the original product. The company says the new service keeps users’ balances, payment amounts and transfer parties off Ethereum’s public ledger, while allowing payments through links and readable wallet handles. The wallet is available through its website, where users can claim a handle, or through a frontend they run on their own device. Handles such as bob.zk.money replace long wallet addresses, and users can send or request funds by sharing a link. Aztec Labs says users can also control who interacts with their handles, which use Ethereum Name Service technology. The company describes the wallet as self-custodial, meaning users retain control of their funds. Aztec Labs says its contracts have no privileged administrator role that can move or freeze users’ assets. The privacy and security features are company claims; the supplied reports do not independently test the live wallet or its underlying contracts. Aztec Labs says the original zk.
