Asus ROG Xbox Ally X20 Preorders Open at $1,299.99

Asus has officially opened preorders for its ROG Xbox Ally X20, a premium handheld gaming PC with a new OLED display, set to launch on October 15, 2026. The announcement, made ahead of the Gamescom expo in Germany, reveals a standalone price of $1,299.99 in the United States, with a more expensive bundle option also available. The device represents a significant mid-generation upgrade to the existing ROG Xbox Ally X, which was released in the fall of 2025 for $999.99. The most prominent change is the shift to a 7.4-inch Full HD OLED screen, replacing the previous LCD panel. This new display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR with up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness, and is protected by Gorilla Glass. The handheld also features a translucent black chassis with gold accents and a 20th anniversary logo, marking two decades of Asus's Republic of Gamers brand. Beyond the screen, Asus has refined the device's controls and ergonomics. The X20 includes TMR joysticks, a transforming D-pad that can switch between four-way and eight-way inputs, and redesigned face buttons.
