Arsenal extend Mikel Arteta’s contract through 2030

Published 7 October 2026

Arsenal have confirmed that manager Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract keeping him at the club until 2030, extending his tenure as he seeks to build on last season’s Premier League title. The deal was announced Wednesday, October 7, after Arteta entered the final year of his previous agreement. Arteta, who took charge in December 2019, said he was privileged to commit his future to Arsenal and described the new agreement as only the beginning of what the club could achieve together. He also thanked co-chairmen Stan and Josh Kroenke for their trust and support. The contract would take Arteta’s Arsenal tenure beyond a decade if he sees it through. He is already the Premier League’s longest-serving manager, according to the reports. Arsenal’s title last season ended a 22-year wait for the league championship. The club also reached the Champions League final, where it lost to Paris Saint-Germain, according to one report. Arsenal’s co-chairmen said they were proud of what the club had achieved with Arteta since his return in 2019 and wanted to create more memories together. Chief executive Richard Garlick said the club aimed to create a winning era with the manager.
