Apple updates Creator Studio and Final Cut Camera

Apple announced updates to Apple Creator Studio and Final Cut Camera on September 29, adding video-editing, image-selection, collaboration and productivity features across its apps. Apple said the updates were available that day, including tools that let editors adjust focus and depth of field in footage captured on iPhone 18 Pro after recording. Final Cut Pro and Motion on Mac can now apply Cinematic mode effects to iPhone 18 Pro video. In Final Cut Pro, editors can change focus points and depth of field in the editing timeline. Compressor adds the ability to convert video with the new effects back to the previous Cinematic mode format, along with HEVC and MPEG4 export presets. Final Cut Camera, Apple’s iPhone filming app, also received a redesign and support for the iPhone 18 Pro’s variable aperture. Apple says users can adjust aperture settings and choose aperture-priority or shutter-priority modes. The app’s redesigned interface gives access to settings including shutter angle, ISO and white balance. Other additions include customizable exposure overlays, improved focus peaking, professional video scopes, clean SDI output and genlock offset.
