Apple Unveils First 2nm M6 Chip and M5 Ultra for Mac
Apple on Tuesday unveiled its first 2-nanometer processor, the M6 chip, alongside the powerful M5 Ultra, marking a significant leap in its Apple Silicon lineup. The new chips were introduced as part of a refresh to the Mac mini and Mac Studio product lines, with the M6 debuting in the updated Mac mini and the M5 Ultra powering the new high-end Mac Studio. The M6 represents the industry's first commercially available 2nm chip, manufactured using TSMC's latest process technology. This advancement allows for greater transistor density, which Apple says delivers major improvements in performance and power efficiency.
