Apple TV Renews Spy Drama Slow Horses for Eighth Season

Published 15 September 2026

Apple TV has renewed its award-winning spy drama "Slow Horses" for an eighth season, the streaming service announced on September 15, 2026. The renewal comes just one day before the premiere of the show's sixth season and while the seventh season is already in production. The series, which stars Gary Oldman as the brilliant but cantankerous MI5 veteran Jackson Lamb, will adapt Mick Herron's novel "Clown Town," the ninth book in the Slough House series. According to an official logline, the new season will see Jackson Lamb and Diana Taverner, played by Kristin Scott Thomas, face off in their most explosive confrontation yet. When a botched attempt to blackmail the Park puts Taverner on the offensive, it is up to Lamb to unravel one of MI5's darkest secrets and put an end to it once and for all. "Slow Horses continues to charm audiences all around the world, and I'm delighted that Jackson Lamb and his gang of lovable misfits will be back for an eighth season," said Jay Hunt, creative director, International, Apple TV. "Their acerbic take on the high-octane world of espionage is completely unique.
