Rhea Seehorn Wins Emmy for Pluribus as Creator Maps Season 2

Rhea Seehorn won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series on Monday night for her role in Apple TV+'s science fiction series "Pluribus." The victory at the 78th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards marks a personal milestone for the actress, ending a four-year streak of nominations without a win. Seehorn's performance as Carol Sturka, one of the few humans immune to a mysterious alien virus that creates a peaceful collective consciousness, beat out nominees including Carrie Coon, Chase Infiniti, Keri Russell, and Zendaya. The win follows earlier honors for the role, including a Golden Globe Award. Backstage at the ceremony, "Pluribus" creator Vince Gilligan revealed that the plot for the show's second season is fully mapped out. Gilligan, who also won an Emmy for Drama Series Writing, stated that the first two scripts are written and the rest are in various stages of completion. "We know what the whole season is, and we will share it soon with Rhea," he said. Gilligan noted that some actors prefer not to know plot details in advance to be surprised.
