Apple TV Orders Second Season of Imperfect Women
Apple TV has ordered a second season of Imperfect Women, with Kerry Washington returning as Eleanor in an original story set in Martha’s Vineyard. Annie Weisman and Justin Hillian will serve as co-showrunners for the new season, which shifts the drama’s focus to Washington’s character and her family history. The season description says Eleanor returns to her hometown roots in the affluent Black enclave, where secrets and scandals threaten to upend what she thought she knew about her past. Unlike the first season, which was based on Araminta Hall’s novel, the second season will follow an original story centered on Eleanor. The renewal extends a series that had initially been presented as a limited series. Its first season starred Washington alongside Elisabeth Moss and Kate Mara. The season concluded about five months before the renewal announcement, according to reports. Washington said in a statement that she was excited to return to the role and explore a new chapter for Eleanor. She also executive produces the series through Simpson Street, alongside Pilar Savone.
