Apple Reportedly Cuts iPhone 18 Pro Orders by at Least 15%

Published 9 October 2026

Apple reportedly asked some suppliers to cut October component orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max by at least 15% from its original requests, according to a supply-chain report that attributed the information to people familiar with the matter. Some sources put the reductions at 15% to 20%. Apple has not confirmed the reported changes in the accounts available Friday. The reported adjustment concerns components for the two premium models, not a confirmed revision to Apple’s total production or sales outlook. The report said the reductions would affect some suppliers in October, with the impact varying because of differences in production lead times. It did not establish whether further order changes would follow in November. People cited in the report said demand for the Pro models had been softer than expected. They pointed to higher memory costs and the phones’ prices, which are reported to be $100 above those of their predecessors. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 and the Pro Max at $1,299, according to the reports. The sources also suggested Apple’s staggered launch schedule may be contributing to lower component volumes.
