Alexandra Metz Joins Will Trent Season 5
Actress Alexandra Metz is set to join the cast of ABC's "Will Trent" as a series regular for its upcoming fifth season, taking on the role of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's new Deputy Director. Metz, known for her role as Dr. Yolanda Garcia in "The Pitt," will portray Birdie Palmer, a character described as confident, ambitious, and razor-sharp, yet deeply guarded due to a past life-altering event. Her casting fills the void left by the departure of Amanda Wagner, played by Sonja Sohn, whose character died offscreen during a solo investigation in Season 4. "Will Trent" Season 5 is scheduled to premiere in 2027, with production having begun in Atlanta. Metz confirmed her involvement by reposting a report from Deadline on her Instagram, expressing gratitude for the opportunity and welcoming the cast and crew. "Will Trent," based on Karin Slaughter's bestselling book series, follows Special Agent Will Trent, who, after a difficult upbringing in Atlanta's foster care system, uses his unique perspective to achieve a high clearance rate within the GBI.
