Airtel Money plans London IPO targeting $800 million

Published 23 September 2026

Airtel Money said it plans to file for a London stock-market listing, with the mobile payments business reported to be seeking about $800 million at a target valuation of $8 billion to $9 billion. The figures are not final offer terms, and the company has yet to disclose a price range or the number of shares to be sold. Airtel Money said it expects to provide indicative offer details in early October, with final pricing in mid-October. The planned flotation would be among London’s largest in recent years, although its eventual size and valuation will depend on the terms set for the offer. The IPO is expected to involve the sale of existing shares rather than the issuance of new shares. Airtel Money said the proceeds would go to the selling shareholders, not directly to the business, and that Airtel Africa would remain a long-term investor after the listing. Airtel Africa owns about 78% of Airtel Money; minority stakes are held by TPG, Mastercard, the Qatar Investment Authority and Chimetech Holding. Airtel Money had initially targeted a listing in the first half of 2026 but moved its timetable to the second half, citing unfavourable market conditions linked to the U.S.
