Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake Release Date Revealed
Nintendo has officially revealed the release date and gameplay for its highly anticipated remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The game is set to launch on November 5, 2026, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. This announcement came during a special Nintendo Direct event celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Zelda franchise. Originally released in 1998, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is widely regarded as one of the most influential video games ever made, notable for being the series' first foray into 3D and establishing many gameplay conventions that became industry standards. The remake, first announced in June 2026, had largely kept its gameplay under wraps until this recent presentation. Series producer Eiji Aonuma provided the first look at the game's updated visuals and mechanics. While the remake appears to remain faithful to the N64 original, it incorporates several enhancements designed to leverage the Switch 2's capabilities. The visuals have undergone a complete overhaul, presenting a modernized aesthetic. A significant addition is the inclusion of a dedicated jump button, a feature absent from the original release.
