Zakura Common Toolkit Cuts Zcash Private Transaction Time to Under 200ms
Zakura, a development team behind a Zcash full node client, has released an open-source cryptography toolkit called Zakura Common that dramatically reduces the time required to create private transactions on the Zcash blockchain. The software, announced on August 31, 2026, cuts the on-device processing time for shielded transactions from over three seconds to under 200 milliseconds in optimal conditions, according to the team's benchmarks. The performance gains are significant across multiple metrics. Mobile proof generation is now more than 14 times faster, while desktop systems achieve over five times the previous speed.
