XRP Ledger Delegation Upgrade Enters Activation Countdown

PermissionDelegationV1_1, an XRP Ledger amendment designed to let accounts assign narrowly defined tasks without surrendering broader control, has entered a 14-day activation countdown after 29 of 35 trusted validators supported it. The change could activate on October 5 if at least 28 validators continue backing it throughout the period; it has not yet gone live. The countdown began September 21, according to the live XRP Ledger amendment dashboard. The reported target is October 5 at 11:18 UTC, conditional on support staying at or above the required threshold. If the number of supporting validators falls below 28 before the countdown ends, the timer resets and a new 14-day period would be required. The amendment would allow an account to delegate specific permissions, such as making payments or approving customers, without giving the other account full control of its keys. Each delegated account could receive up to 10 permissions, and the account granting them could later change or revoke them. The design is intended to separate operational duties from control of critical account settings.
