A recall of frozen berries sold at Walmart stores in 16 states has been expanded due to a potential E. coli contamination risk, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced. The action, which took effect on September 2, 2026, involves one lot of Great Value Organic Triple Berry Blend, a 10-ounce package containing strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries. The recall is part of an ongoing investigation into products from the Chilean supplier Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur S.A. The affected frozen berry mix was distributed to select Walmart locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Wisconsin. The product has a Universal Product Code of 7874211226 and a best-by date of February 9, 2028. According to the FDA, there are no reports of illnesses connected to this specific Great Value product. This expansion follows an earlier recall initiated in July 2026 for GreenWise brand frozen organic blueberries and mixed berries sold at Publix stores in eight states.
