Waleses’ Joint Appearances Draw Attention Before Sussexes’ Visit

Published 15 October 2026

Prince William and Catherine have increased their joint public appearances in recent weeks as Prince Harry and Meghan prepare for a scheduled visit to Nottingham, bringing renewed attention to the brothers’ strained relationship. Royal biographer Russell Myers said the Prince and Princess of Wales do not view the Sussexes as competitors and are focused on their own work and causes. Harry and Meghan are scheduled to visit Nottingham on Thursday, October 15, for engagements supporting young people and local communities. The visit is expected to include stops at three charities. It is their first joint public engagement in Britain since returning to the country in August, according to reports. The Waleses’ recent public appearances have included a red-carpet event with actor Tom Cruise and a visit to Belfast. The couple also appeared together at events in Glasgow connected with the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Their schedule has prompted speculation about whether the increased visibility is intended to distinguish their roles from those of the Sussexes.
