Tributes are pouring in for veteran Nigerian journalist and publisher Dotun Oladipo, who died on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the age of 56. Oladipo, the founder and publisher of the digital news outlet The Eagle Online, passed away in Lagos after reportedly falling ill suddenly at his office. According to reports, Oladipo drove himself to a hospital after becoming ill but died hours later while receiving medical attention. His death was confirmed by the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), an organization he led as president from 2017 to 2021.
