Vice President JD Vance used the closing night of the first-ever Republican midterm convention in Dallas on Thursday, September 10, to sharpen the party's message ahead of the November elections, while delegates gathered at the two-day event increasingly view him as the early favorite to succeed President Donald Trump in 2028. Trump delivered the keynote on Wednesday night and returned Thursday to give the closing address after Vance's keynote.
