Ubisoft delays Rayman Legends Retold to December despite going gold

Ubisoft has delayed the release of Rayman Legends Retold, a remake of the 2013 platformer, from its original October 1, 2026, date to December 3, 2026. The announcement, made via social media, comes despite the game having officially "gone gold," a status indicating it is finalized for manufacturing. In a statement, the development team said, "While the game has officially gone gold, we have decided to take extra time to make sure every detail gets the care it deserves." The company did not specify the exact reasons for the additional two months of development time. The delay moves the game's launch into a less crowded release window, following the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. The original Rayman Legends launched alongside Grand Theft Auto V in 2013. To accompany the news, Ubisoft announced that a new game overview trailer for Rayman Legends Retold will be released on September 22, 2026. That same day, fresh hands-on impressions from creators and press will be shared. Rayman Legends Retold is a remake that rebuilds the original game's levels and design with 3D visuals using Ubisoft's Snowdrop engine.
