Tyson Says He Delivered Combs Letter to Trump
Mike Tyson said he delivered a letter from Sean Combs to President Donald Trump after Combs asked him to carry it, according to Tyson’s account in an interview released this week. The letter was connected to Combs’s request for a presidential pardon, but Tyson did not describe its contents or say when he handed it over. Tyson discussed the request during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. Asked whether he had delivered a letter from Combs to Trump, Tyson replied that he had done what Combs asked. He also said he remains friendly with Combs and had spoken with him while Combs was in prison. Trump acknowledged in January that he had received a pardon request letter from Combs and said he would not grant the request, according to reports. Trump did not say how he received the letter. The available accounts do not establish whether Tyson’s delivery was the same letter Trump described, or when the handoff occurred. Combs is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after a jury convicted him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The jury acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.
