Two arrested after fight at Sugar Land youth softball game
A dispute over cheering at a youth softball game in Sugar Land, Texas, led to the arrests of Kiarious Hall and Jazmine Hall after two men were injured, according to police and court records. The confrontation took place October 24 at Imperial Park during a game between two select teams of 12-year-old girls. Investigators said the argument began when another spectator challenged Kiarious Hall over cheering during the opposing team’s at-bats. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation involving the Halls and other adults. Court records and investigators’ review of video describe Kiarious Hall striking a man in the face with a metal water bottle. The man fell unconscious and was taken to hospital. Steve Shellist, the injured man’s attorney, said his client suffered a broken jaw, a fractured skull and three brain bleeds. Gary Greaser, a grandfather who intervened, also sustained injuries. Reports say he suffered a broken hip, cuts and scrapes, and needed seven stitches to his chin. Greaser said he stepped in to try to disarm Hall after the first man was struck. Kiarious Hall told investigators he acted in self-defense, saying the men had elbowed and poked him in the chest....
