Trump Plans Kansas Campaign Visit for Roger Marshall

Published 14 October 2026

President Donald Trump is expected to campaign in Kansas next week for Republican Sen. Roger Marshall, as polls show a close contest with Democratic challenger Adam Hamilton in a state long considered safely Republican. The Republican National Committee confirmed plans for the campaign visit, which is intended to support Marshall’s reelection bid in November. The sources do not confirm that the rally has taken place. The Cook Political Report has shifted its rating of the race from Lean Republican to Toss Up, according to reporting on the change. Recent surveys show a tight contest, though their results are snapshots rather than election outcomes. A YouGov poll of 2,255 likely Kansas voters conducted September 24 to October 4 put Hamilton at 48% and Marshall at 45%, with a 3.2-point margin of error. A Trafalgar Group poll conducted September 29 to October 1 found Hamilton at 44.4% and Marshall at 43.5%, with a 2.9-point margin of error. The close polling has drawn substantial national campaign spending. The Senate Leadership Fund directed $14 million to Kansas, according to one report, while Democratic-aligned groups also announced additional spending.
