Trailer for Guy Ritchie Thriller 'Wife and Dog' Reveals Star-Studded Cast

Published 18 September 2026

The first trailer for Guy Ritchie's upcoming thriller "Wife and Dog" has been released, showcasing a star-studded cast and a plot centered on a wealthy family's violent succession battle. The film, set for a theatrical release on February 19, 2027, stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike, and Anthony Hopkins in a story described as a tale of "relentless greed" within the fictional Fairbank family. The official synopsis states that the greed of the Fairbank family and their associates "fuels betrayal and murder in the battle for succession." The trailer opens with Hopkins' character telling a dark parable to Pike's character about a man who digs himself into hell, setting a serious tone that appears to diverge from Ritchie's often tongue-in-cheek style. It features scenes of opulent family dinners juxtaposed with brutal violence, including Cumberbatch's character using a shotgun and a length of rebar. The film marks another collaboration between Ritchie and distributor Black Bear, following "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" and "In the Grey." Ritchie wrote, directed, and produced "Wife and Dog" alongside Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg.
