Tracy High Coach Arrested After Phone Found Recording in Locker Room

A high school football coach in Tracy, California, was arrested after students discovered a cellphone secretly recording them in a boys' locker room, authorities said. The incident has prompted an ongoing police investigation and raised concerns about student safety in the community. The discovery occurred on September 10, when student athletes at Tracy High School found a phone in active recording mode while changing. According to police, the students stopped the recording, deleted the file, and handed the device to a teacher. The school's resource officers and detectives launched an investigation, which identified the phone as belonging to 48-year-old Jeffrey Pribble, a physical education teacher and the head varsity football coach. Officers arrested Pribble on campus the following day, September 11. The Tracy Unified School District placed him on immediate administrative leave. Police have not publicly detailed the specific criminal charges he may face, nor have they explained how long the phone was in the locker room or whether other recordings exist.
