A nine-year-old Class 3 student died after collapsing in her classroom at a Mayur Vihar school in East Delhi on November 4, police said. The girl was taken to Malik Hospital in Nirman Vihar and was declared dead there, according to the police account. One report identified the hospital as Malik Redix Health Care. Preliminary police review of classroom footage reportedly showed the girl entering the room, placing a hand on her waist and then falling. The footage showed a teacher approaching and trying to seat her before briefly leaving the room and returning to carry her out for medical help. Police are continuing to examine the footage and other relevant evidence. The school was identified as Lovely Heritage School in one report and Lovely Public School in another; a third report did not name it. The accounts place it in Mayur Vihar, but do not establish which school name is correct. Principal Bhawna Malik said the child suffered cardiac arrest and was taken to hospital immediately....
