Taylor Swift announced on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, that her new single, Patient Zero, will be released on Friday, September 25. The announcement followed a countdown clock on Swift's website that ended at 2 p.m. ET on Tuesday. In the hours beforehand, she changed her Instagram and X bios to read And, baby, that's sh0w business f0r y0u, with zeros replacing the letter O, and zeros appeared in place of the letter O in lyrics for The Life of a Showgirl on streaming platforms. One of her Eras Tour dancers, Kameron Saunders, also posted an Instagram photo captioned with the same zero-spelled line. Three limited-edition CD variants of the single, an original, an acoustic version and a piano version, are available for preorder at $3.99 each while supplies last. The listings carry The Life of a Showgirl logo and glitter associated with that album era, though the bright orange associated with the record has been swapped for a sparkly black.
