Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash sell Pickle Cottage to move to fixer-upper

Published 3 September 2026

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash have announced they are selling their family home, Pickle Cottage, and moving to a new property that requires significant renovation. The couple shared the news in an emotional video posted to Instagram on Wednesday, stating they will be leaving the Essex home "imminently" after five years. Solomon, 36, and Swash, 44, purchased the Tudor-style estate in 2021 for £1.3 million. They documented extensive DIY projects and renovations at the property, which they affectionately named Pickle Cottage. The home holds deep personal significance for the couple; they held their wedding in its grounds in July 2022, and Solomon gave birth to their two daughters, Rose and Belle, there. In their announcement, the couple explained the move was driven by a desire for more land to accommodate their family and passions. "For a little while we've always wanted to rescue more animals, grow more vegetables so we've always been thinking if there was ever a chance to get a bit more land then we would consider it," Solomon said.
