Spiritbox Surprise Release New Single Mourning

Published 9 September 2026

Spiritbox has surprise-released a new single titled "Mourning," marking their first new music since the 2025 album "Tsunami Sea." The track, described as more melodic and atmospheric than their previous work, features dynamic guitar riffs and expressive clean vocals from frontwoman Courtney LaPlante. The accompanying music video signals a visual shift from the stark black-and-white aesthetic of the "Tsunami Sea" era to a more vibrant palette. "Mourning" was released via Pale Chord and Rise Records and offers a glimpse into the band's evolving sound. Critics have noted the song's emotional weight and poetic lyricism, exploring themes of grief. The single's release comes less than a week before Spiritbox is set to begin their extensive UK and European headlining tour. This tour commences on September 12 in Glasgow, Scotland, and includes stops in Nottingham, Manchester, Cardiff, and concludes on September 19 at London's OVO Arena Wembley. The band will be joined by support acts Jinjer and Dying Wish for these dates.
