Soccer Mommy Returns With First New Single in Two Years
Singer-songwriter Sophie Allison, performing as Soccer Mommy, has released "Rings of Saturn," her first new single in two years. The track, described by the artist as the start of a new creative era, was produced by Elliott Kozel, known for his work with Rosalía and Björk. The song arrives with a visualizer directed by Suji Park. In a statement, Allison explained the personal inspiration behind the music. "This song is about feeling lost and looking for hope from anywhere," she said. "I wrote it during a difficult time when I would often take my telescope out into the yard to look at the moon or at planets. There's something about feeling small that can kind of take the weight off." "Rings of Saturn" follows Soccer Mommy's 2024 album "Evergreen" and its accompanying acoustic version, "Evergreen Stripped," released last year. The new single is billed as the beginning of a new chapter for the Nashville-based artist. Allison is also preparing to hit the road for a co-headlining tour with fellow indie rock artist Snail Mail.
