Silent Video Shows Clarkson’s Visit to Brooklyn Shop
Silent surveillance footage released October 13 shows Kelly Clarkson browsing Art of Play in Brooklyn, speaking with employees and gesturing near the shop’s exit, but it does not establish what was said in the exchange at the center of their dispute. Clarkson and the store have offered conflicting accounts of whether a mechanical bird called Molly was for sale and what an employee told her. The video, obtained by podcast host Pablo Torre, shows a woman identified in the reporting as Clarkson looking at merchandise, examining Molly and speaking with a staff member. She later returns toward the counter and gestures while talking with another employee before leaving. The recording has no audio, so it cannot confirm either account of the conversation or its tone. Reports say the visit lasted about five minutes. Clarkson wrote on X on October 10 that an employee treated her as though she could not afford an item and offered to find something comparable. She said she had gone to the store intending to buy several things and compared the experience to Julia Roberts’ character in the film Pretty Woman.
