Sharon Osbourne says doctors warned Ozzy against final show

Published 14 October 2026

Sharon Osbourne says six doctors advised Ozzy Osbourne not to perform at his July 2025 farewell concert, warning that taking the stage could kill him. She said he chose to perform with Black Sabbath anyway, describing it as what he wanted to do. The concert, Back to the Beginning, took place at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5, 2025. Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22. Sharon recounted the doctors’ advice in an interview about the concert film, Ozzy Black Sabbath Back to the Beginning, which is scheduled to begin a limited theatrical release on October 28, 2026. She said Ozzy had been hospitalized in the United States before the couple returned to England, where he spent a week in hospital. The English medical team made its own assessment, she said, and six specialists later met with the family at home. She described them as including doctors focused on his heart, Parkinson’s disease and lungs. According to Sharon, the doctors advised against the show and warned it could kill him. She said Ozzy responded that performing was his choice.
