Ring to Launch Neighbours Platform in UK in October

Ring, the doorbell camera maker owned by Amazon, is set to launch its Neighbours community platform and Search Party for Dogs feature in the United Kingdom on October 21, 2026. The service will be free to join within the Ring app, allowing users to set a local radius for community posts about safety and lost items, regardless of owning Ring products. The Neighbours platform, which launched in the US in 2018, is making its UK debut as a geofenced community group. Users can set a radius of between 0.1 and five miles to discuss local issues. Dave Ward, Ring's International Managing Director, said the platform aims to provide a hyperlocal tool that complements existing social networks like Facebook and WhatsApp. Search Party for Dogs is a feature that uses Ring camera footage to help find lost dogs. Users can report a missing dog by uploading an image, and participants with Ring cameras and a subscription will be alerted if their devices detect a match. They can then choose to share footage with the owner privately. Ring is collaborating with the charity Dogs Trust on this feature.
