Resident Evil 2, 3, 4 Remakes Coming to Switch 2

Published 9 September 2026

Capcom is bringing the acclaimed remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 to the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, 2026. The announcement, made during the September Nintendo Direct, confirms that these titles will be native versions rather than cloud-streamed editions, addressing a point of contention for some players on the original Switch. Resident Evil 2 will be available as the Deluxe Edition, which includes additional costumes, weapons, and the option to switch to the original game's soundtrack. Resident Evil 4 will be released as the Gold Edition, featuring the base game along with the "Separate Ways" scenario starring Ada Wong and other bonus content. Resident Evil 3 will be offered as a standard edition but will include cosmetic bonuses such as Jill's Classic Costume and Carlos's Classic Hair. Preorders for all three digital releases are now open through the Nintendo Store. The arrival of these three games significantly expands the modern Resident Evil library on the Switch 2, joining titles like Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village that previously received native ports.
