Ralph Lauren Spring 2027 Opens Fur-Free NYFW

Published 10 September 2026

Ralph Lauren unveiled his Spring 2027 womenswear collection on Wednesday, September 9, at the Jack Shainman Gallery in Manhattan, marking the unofficial start to New York Fashion Week. The presentation coincided with the industry's implementation of its first full ban on fur on the runway, a policy announced by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The collection, described by the designer as an “irreverent take on romance” that creates “a new elegance,” blended familiar American tailoring with more experimental and romantic elements. Navy and white formed the core palette, accented by ruffles, feathers, florals, and shimmering pastel fabrics. Silhouettes ranged from sharply tailored pantsuits, nodding to Lauren's early women's designs, to voluminous gowns suitable for red carpet events. References to the designer's origins included a blue brocade vest and voluminous matching shirt paired with an exaggerated tie, a callback to his early neckwear business. Notable attendees in the front row included Oscar-winning actresses Viola Davis and Cynthia Erivo, alongside Eiza González, Elizabeth Debicki, and Rachel Brosnahan, underscoring the brand's connection to Hollywood.
