Published 15 October 2026

Paris Saint-Germain beat Manchester City 4-2 at the Etihad Stadium after building a three-goal halftime lead in a Champions League match that turned sharply after the break. PSG manager Luis Enrique said his side had been fortunate to win, while City manager Enzo Maresca said his team’s second-half display merited more. Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé and Vitinha scored in the first half as PSG moved ahead 3-0. City responded after halftime, with Erling Haaland scoring twice. Maghnes Akliouche also scored for PSG, and Ferran Torres missed a late penalty for the visitors. The result ended City’s eight-game winning streak in all competitions, according to the reports, while PSG continued their Champions League campaign with a victory. City had been outplayed in the first half but created a much stronger challenge after the interval. Enrique said City created chances that could have changed the result and that PSG might have conceded more goals. He described the match as exciting and said his team had suffered during City’s second-half response. After the game, Maresca said Enrique had acknowledged that PSG were lucky to hold on.
