Professor Layton Steam Dec 10 2026 Release

Level-5 has announced that Professor Layton and the New World of Steam will launch on December 10, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The release date was confirmed via a trailer shown during a recent Nintendo Direct presentation. The upcoming title marks a significant expansion for the puzzle-adventure franchise, as it will be the first main entry to be released on PlayStation and PC platforms. All previous games in the series, which began in 2007 with Professor Layton and the Curious Village on the Nintendo DS, were exclusive to Nintendo consoles. The franchise has sold over 18 million units worldwide. Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is set one year after the events of Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. The story follows Professor Hershel Layton, an archaeology professor, and his young protégé Luke Triton as they investigate a mysterious incident in Steam Bison. This steampunk metropolis is characterized by its rapid development fueled by advanced steam technology. The game is expected to feature the largest collection of puzzles in the franchise's history.
